Local Produce FarmBox CSA
Building and supporting our local food system is one of the cornerstones of Rolling Hills. It is why the focus of our work as nursery stock growers is concentrated on the growing of heirloom vegetable and herb plants so you can grow more of your own food in whatever space you have.
On our Urban Farm, we have over 30 fruit bearing trees & vines: Boysenberries, Blackberries, Grapes, Donut white peaches. Santa Rosa Plums, Blenheim apricots, Figs, Pomegranates, Elderberry, Elberta Peaches, Meyer lemons, Mexican Limes and more.
At our additional growing site located at the University of Redlands, we have 55+ boysenberry vines, Mulberries and this is where we grow our annual heirloom vegetable crops.
In support of fellow local and certified organic growers of Southern California, we offer our community the fruits of their labor as well, bringing you nectarines, cherries, apples, nectarines, strawberries and more.
We offer our produce primarily though our FarmBox CSA.
What is a CSA?
A CSA is a partnership between farmers and community members where customers subscribe to a 6 week share of our field fresh, certified organic local peak of the season produce in advance. It is an investment in our work, local agriculture, our environment, the local food system and the health and well-being of you and your family. Your support helps us plan and grow. We can plan how much to grow, cover costs of growing [water, materials, inputs, labor, packaging, etc] In return, you get fruits brimming with flavor seldom found at the grocery store shelf, with optimal nutrition since it is harvested so close to when you will enjoy it.
What a beautiful way to connect not only with who and where your food is grown but also with the rhythm of Nature herself.
Our CSA is for a 6 week subscription that automatically renews. Weekly, you will receive a box brimming with fresh from the field, local and seasonal produce. Our FarmBox is “fruit centered” about 80% fruit with a little veggies to round it out. Enjoying your share is so easy - just grab to enjoy fresh with lunch, as a snack, woven into a delicious baked recipe, added fresh to salad or frozen/preserved for enjoying later. Each week we send a mixed bag of salad greens to add these seasonal fruits to plus favorites like heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, etc [based on seasonal availability]. Our CSA is weekly and runs year round. You can begin your subscription anytime in the year providing we have shares available.
Two sizes are available to meet your budget and household size: our standard FarmBox and what we call the “Half-Pint” - same produce as in the standard just a smaller amount.
***PLEASE NOTE: SUBSCRIPTIONS WILL RENEW EVERY 6 WEEKS FOR 6 MONTHS. SIMPLY RE-SUBSCRIBE WHEN THIS TIMEFRAME COMES TO A CLOSE.
Pick-up of your share of produce is here at the Urban Farm & Nursery from our walk-in self serve cooler each Thursday - Sunday. You simply pop in when it works for you and your box is ready and waiting with your name on it. Please return your box each week so we can reduce and re-use. If you would like to pick up Monday - Thursday, we can do this. Simply send us an email to we can make certain to send you the freshest harvest possible.
